What is the Flipper Industrial Pack?

The Flipper Industrial Pack is a set of three Electronic Cats add-on boards for the Flipper Zero — Modbus, Ethernet and CANBus — sold together for industrial, wired and vehicle work. Each board plugs into the Flipper’s GPIO port and adds a capability the device does not have on its own: Modbus RTU over RS-485 for industrial networks, wired 10BASE-T Ethernet for network discovery and packet capture, and CAN bus with OBD2 and UDS for vehicles. All three run on the official Flipper Zero firmware, so nothing custom has to be installed on the device itself. Each board keeps its own free companion app and its own open documentation, so you can start with one protocol and move to the next without buying again.

Read an industrial bus without hauling a laptop

You are auditing a plant line you are authorized to test and need to see what the PLC and its peripherals are actually saying. With the Modbus board you passively sniff the RS-485 bus without interfering, and when you need to probe a response you build and send a request as master from the Flipper itself. No laptop on the factory floor, and the log stays on the device for later reading.

Map a wired network from the socket

On an authorized network audit you plug the Ethernet board into a live RJ45 socket and let the Flipper discover what is on the segment, including LLDP-enabled switches and access points that answer passively. You capture traffic on site and export it as PCAP to open in Wireshark later, which is the part that matters when the building has no WiFi to work from.

Run a workshop where every station is a protocol

One pack covers three protocols, so a class or CTF can rotate groups through stations: Modbus on a bench peripheral, Ethernet on a switch you own, and CAN against a RAMN miniature testbed instead of a real vehicle. Every station uses the same Flipper Zero the students already know, and each board keeps its own documentation and tutorials for them to follow.

Start in 10 minutes

  1. Update your Flipper Zero to the latest official firmware with qFlipper or the official mobile app — no custom firmware is needed for these three boards.
  2. Download the latest .fap app for each board from its releases page: Modbus, Ethernet and CANBus.
  3. Connect the Flipper over USB and upload each .fap into the Apps folder with qFlipper, Flipper Lab or the mobile app with Experimental Options enabled.
  4. Attach the board you want to use to the Flipper’s GPIO port and open its app from Apps on the device.
  5. For CAN work, connect the OBD2 cable, or wire CAN-H (white) and CAN-L (black) directly to the bus you are authorized to test.

Do I need a Flipper Zero?
Yes. The three boards in this pack are add-ons: each one attaches to the Flipper Zero’s GPIO port and is driven by a companion app on the device. The Flipper Zero itself is not included.
No. The boards ship as hardware; each companion app is a free .fap file you download from its GitHub Releases page and upload to the Flipper’s Apps folder with qFlipper, Flipper Lab or the mobile app. All three run on the official Flipper firmware, so no custom firmware is needed.
The CANBus board reads live engine data, VIN and diagnostic trouble codes from an OBD2 port, and the community keeps a compatibility table in the wiki — sniffing, OBD2 and UDS are confirmed on models such as a 2006 Hyundai Accent and a 2017 Chevrolet Tornado. Vehicles that use CAN FD are not compatible with this hardware.
Only on networks, buses and vehicles you own or are explicitly authorized to test. Electronic Cats builds these boards for ethical research: showing how open Modbus RTU, wired Ethernet and CAN networks are so the owner can fix it. Connecting directly to a live vehicle ECU network instead of the OBD2 port can damage the vehicle, so do it carefully.
